State narcotics agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics say a weekend raid on a Locust Grove grow operation turned up thousands of plants and a truckload of product. During a search warrant at Greenline Garden LLC on Saturday, agents reported seizing 5,136 marijuana plants and about 1,525 pounds of processed marijuana. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigators took three people into custody at the scene, and officials say the bust is part of a wider investigation into suspected illegal grows tied to fraudulent registrations and black-market trafficking, as reported by FOX23.
Search Warrant at Greenline Garden LLC
According to FOX23, OBN's Marijuana Enforcement Teams served the warrant at Greenline Garden LLC and hauled off both live plants and processed marijuana. The bureau listed a long roster of partners on the operation, including ICE, the Pryor Police Department, the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office, Locust Grove and Claremore police departments, the District 12 Drug Task Force and the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture. Officials did not immediately say whether criminal charges had been filed and noted that the investigation is still very much active.
Part of a Statewide Crackdown
The raid is one piece of a bigger statewide push. The bureau has said it created full-time Marijuana Enforcement Teams in 2021 to focus on groups running unlicensed grows and on efforts to get registrations through “straw ownership” setups, according to the governor’s office. That state release labeled MET work a priority and pointed to joint efforts with federal and local agencies. Those teams are used to go after operations the bureau says are linked to black-market trafficking across Oklahoma.
More Large Hauls This Winter
The Locust Grove case is far from the only big grow OBN has hit this season. Agents also served a warrant at Whale Farm Inc. in Stratford this winter, where they seized 10,656 marijuana plants and roughly 296 pounds of processed marijuana, as reported by KXII. Those kinds of raids often involve federal partners and can lead to detentions by ICE while investigators sort through potential immigration and trafficking angles.
Scale of the Crackdown and How to Report Tips
The bureau has put out some eye-popping totals from its MET operations. Since 2022, OBN reports that its teams have seized more than 2.1 million illegal marijuana plants and over 250,000 pounds of processed marijuana while making hundreds of arrests, according to reporting in Sulphur Times. Officials are asking anyone with information about suspected illegal grow sites or trafficking operations to call the OBN anonymous tip line at 800-522-8031. They caution that the investigations are ongoing and more enforcement actions could follow as agents review evidence from recent raids.
Mayes County Commissioner Randy Pierce and several local departments assisted with the Locust Grove operation, which OBN says is still under investigation, FOX23 reported. Prosecutors and federal partners will decide what happens next as the case moves forward.
