Crash-Prone Corridor and Past Closures
Loop 12, known locally as Walton Walker and Northwest Highway in this stretch, has a long record of serious crashes and congestion. The Dallas Morning News previously reported a December 2023 collision at the same intersection that closed northbound Loop 12 for hours, and a 2025 analysis by the paper flagged Walton Walker among the region’s frequently congested corridors.
Officials, Investigation and Travel Impacts
The sheriff’s office did not release the names of those involved or a suspected cause, and deputies remained at the scene as investigators processed evidence. Drivers in northwest Dallas should expect backups and consider alternate routes or extra travel time while law enforcement, road crews and tow operators clear the roadway.
