
A 14-year-old boy was shot in the head and killed just before midnight Saturday in Sunset Park, a late-night burst of violence that has left a Brooklyn block reeling and police hunting for three masked suspects.
Officers responding to the area of 46th Street and 9th Avenue found the teen with a gunshot wound to the head. He was later pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld until his family can be notified.
According to News 12 Brooklyn, police said they are looking for three males who were seen wearing ski masks. As of Saturday morning, no arrests had been announced.
Police Searching For Suspects
Authorities say the suspects were described as three males in ski masks and are urging anyone who saw what happened or captured it on video to contact investigators.
People with information can call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or submit a confidential tip online, according to the NYPD.
Investigation Ongoing
Detectives have not released a possible motive for the shooting. The boy’s name continues to be withheld pending family notification, and investigators are asking anyone with footage or information to share it with police as the case remains open.
