Nancy Pastor, who has long helped manage pieces of late developer Sergio Pino’s business empire, is now trying to slam the brakes on a lucrative payout tied to one of his daughters. In a lawsuit filed March 25, Century Gables View Multifamily is asking a Miami judge to block, or at least rein in, money that would flow to Jacqueline Pino Wechsler from the sale of a major apartment complex. At the center of the fight is a profit-sharing agreement from 2014 that Pastor’s side says looks questionable, and they want the court to decide whether that deal actually holds up and, if it does, how any payout should be calculated.

According to The Real Deal, the complaint names Century Marketplace and Philip Schecter and says Pastor’s review of company records turned up no tax returns, gift-tax filings or other paperwork showing a profit-sharing obligation tied to a project known as 850 Living. Century Gables View says an internal review came up empty, then prompted the court filing that now asks a judge to declare the 2014 agreement invalid. The complaint also points out that control of Century Gables View was transferred to Pastor two months after Pino’s death.

This latest skirmish is unfolding against the backdrop of a sprawling estate meltdown that began after Pino died by suicide on July 16, 2024, as federal agents closed in on a murder-for-hire investigation. NBC 6 and other outlets have tracked the criminal probe, the haggling over assets and a flurry of lawsuits that followed, with attorneys saying crucial corporate records are now scattered among rival factions. That chaos provides the setting for Pastor’s latest effort to shut down, or at least trim, a profit-share payout.

850 Living Sale And Who Stands To Cash In

850 Living, an eight-story, 230-unit building at 811 Northwest 43rd Avenue, sold in March 2025 for roughly $71.5 million. The proceeds were used first to pay off a lender, with the remaining funds parked in escrow. As reported by The Real Deal, a later settlement set out who would benefit: Wechsler would receive half of the sale proceeds, Tatiana Pino a quarter, and the remaining siblings would split the final quarter. Pastor’s new complaint now asks a judge to deny or limit Wechsler’s share unless the court definitively upholds the 2014 profit-sharing agreement.

How The Court Fight Could Play Out

Century Gables View is seeking a clear judicial ruling on the disputed agreement, a move that could free up, reallocate or block the escrowed funds depending on how the judge comes down. Lawyers on both sides have already been trading shots over the validity of documents Pino signed before he died, while other recent lawsuits have gone after trusts and long-term leases tied to his developments. Judge Yvonne Colodny has previously appointed a curator to handle parts of the estate, and the case is expected to return to Miami-Dade Circuit Court for more briefing and hearings, NBC 6 reports.
