Miami rolled into the weekend under partly cloudy, muggy skies Saturday morning, with temperatures near 75°F and humidity hanging in the low 80s. East winds are already up around 14 mph and there is a slight chance of quick coastal showers before mid-morning. After that, the rest of the day looks mostly sunny with a high near 80°F.
Beach And Boating Hazards
Atlantic beaches remain under a high rip current risk through Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service Miami. The National Weather Service rip current statement warns that "rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water" and urges beachgoers to swim near lifeguards. Boaters and small-craft operators should expect choppy seas and consider delaying nonessential trips.
Afternoon Winds Pick Up
East winds are expected to run around 10–14 mph this afternoon with gusts near 18–20 mph, keeping the surf punchy and seas roughly 2–4 feet offshore. Those gusts may knock around beach umbrellas and light gear on the sand and mean slower, choppier conditions for paddleboards and kayaks.
Looking Ahead
Sunny, warm conditions are forecast through midweek with daytime highs near 80°F and mild nights in the low 70s. A frontal boundary later in the week could bring a better chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday, so outdoor plans may need a little flexibility.
Beach Safety
If you head to the beach, swim at guarded areas and follow posted flag warnings. If you are pulled into a rip current, float and signal for help instead of fighting the pull, and alert a lifeguard as soon as possible.
