
A quiet stretch of St. Paul’s Midway neighborhood turned into an active crime scene Wednesday afternoon after a shooting on the 1500 block of Edmund Avenue West left one person dead and sent police swarming the area.
Officers shut down the block while detectives walked the street, marked evidence, and worked behind rolls of bright crime-scene tape. A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS photographer captured the heavy police response as investigators began what is now a full homicide probe.
St. Paul police confirmed that one person was killed in the shooting on Edmund Avenue West. The circumstances of the gunfire are still a mystery, and officials have not yet released the victim’s identity, according to KSTP.
