Grandview’s late night pizza scene is gearing up for a familiar face. Mikey's Late Night Slice is planning a return to Grandview Heights with a full-service shop at 1312 Grandview Ave, in the building that most recently housed Homefield: Iconic Sports Bar. The company says it has submitted development plans for the site and is targeting a mid-2026 opening.
As reported by The Columbus Dispatch, Mikey’s has filed an application asking the Grandview Heights Planning Commission for a major site-plan review, and the company said construction would begin "soon" in an accompanying press release. The paper notes the new shop is being framed as the latest Central Ohio outpost for the growing brand.
The city’s calendar lists a Planning Commission meeting on March 18 where the application is scheduled to be considered, with case documents available online and instructions for how residents can submit written comments before the hearing. Grandview Heights’ meeting page includes links to the full packet and livestream details.
Chain Growth and Recent Openings
Mikey’s has been stretching beyond Columbus in the past year. Nation’s Restaurant News reported plans for full-service locations in Polaris and Dayton, growth that pushed the chain into double digits. The downtown Dayton shop held a Jan. 30, 2026 grand opening, according to local coverage from Dayton Local.
The Space and Neighborhood Context
The Grandview location at 1312 Grandview Ave sits in the heart of the neighborhood’s dining strip. Visitor materials from Destination Grandview list Homefield at that address, underscoring how the site is positioned in a busy run of storefronts.
The street has already seen fresh pizza competition this month. Another new pizza stall was recently covered opening in Grandview, setting up Mikey’s to enter a neighborhood where late night slices are already jockeying for local loyalties.
“Grandview, we’ve missed you!” founder Mikey Sorboro wrote in a press release, according to The Columbus Dispatch. The release says the new shop is expected to open in mid-2026, and the company told the paper that construction will start once the necessary approvals are in hand.
What to Watch Next
The Grandview Heights Planning Commission is set to meet on March 18 to consider the major site-plan review for the project. If commissioners sign off, Mikey’s expects to break ground soon after. Neighbors can keep tabs on the timing and details through the city’s meeting packet and livestream as the plan moves through the approval process.
