Tex-Mex fans in New Caney now have a firm date to circle. Casa Julia Tex-Mex, the Mont Belvieu-born favorite, will hold the grand opening of its new Speed Street location on March 31, bringing its dine-in, to-go and catering setup to the growing retail corridor north of Houston. The New Caney restaurant is expected to offer a full bar and weekend brunch similar to the flagship, capping off months of construction and local hiring, as reported by Community Impact.
Casa Julia officials have confirmed the March 31 opening date. According to Community Impact, the New Caney menu will feature quesadillas, loaded nachos, fajitas, enchiladas and tacos, along with lunch items such as pork tamales, crispy beef tacos and chicken flautas.
Menu, Bar And Weekend Brunch
Casa Julia’s website highlights scratch-made chips and an in-house margarita mix, and notes that the Mont Belvieu flagship runs weekend brunch and private-dining options the New Caney outpost is expected to mirror, according to Casa Julia's website. Local listings for the New Caney venue also describe two outdoor patios and a private party room, per the Greater East Montgomery County Chamber.
How The Build Came Together
State project records filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation list a ground-up Casa Julia restaurant at 23076 Speed Street, estimate the build at roughly $3 million and note a footprint of about 93,322 square feet. Those filings also name EAM Holdings, doing business as Casa Julia, as the owner and LH2 Architecture as the design firm, per the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Casa Julia hosted on-site application events as it staffed the new restaurant, earlier coverage shows. Community Impact reported that the chain ran hiring events and said updates would be posted on the restaurant’s social channels.
The grand opening is set for Tuesday, March 31, and the restaurant says it will publish hours, menu details and opening-day promotions on its site and social pages. For the latest information and online ordering links, see Casa Julia's website.
