An adult man was killed Sunday after a stabbing near the neighborhood pool at the Timberline (also spelled Timberlane in some property listings) clubhouse in Covington, according to law enforcement. Deputies and paramedics tried life-saving measures at the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead. The suspected attacker initially took off, and investigators locked down the area while they searched. A suspect was later taken into custody.
According to KIRO 7, deputies were called to the Timberline clubhouse and found an adult man with at least one stab wound. Deputies and paramedics worked to treat his injuries on site, but he was pronounced dead there. The King County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit has taken over the case.
Where it happened
Mapping information lists the clubhouse used by the Timberlane homeowners association at 19300 SE 267th St in Covington, according to Waze. Property listings for the Timberlane community note that the HOA maintains a seasonal pool and clubhouse for residents, per Trulia. The complex sits east of Highway 18 and is ringed by homes and nearby parks, a place more associated with summer gatherings than homicide investigations.
Investigation and arrest
Deputies searched a nearby wooded area for roughly half an hour before locating and arresting a suspect, law enforcement told KIRO 7. Investigators said they do not yet have information indicating whether the victim and the suspect knew each other. The King County Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of either man or any potential charges. Major Crimes detectives are continuing the investigation, and the department is describing the case as developing.
