Downtown San Rafael is about to get a new hangout for laptop-toting golfers. Golfery of Marin, an indoor golf simulator lounge and co-working hybrid, is aiming to open this summer, with a soft opening targeted for the end of June and a grand opening planned for early July.

As reported by WhatNow, the five-bay venue will move into Space B at 647 Irwin Street, the strip between the Starbucks and Subway, and will be led by co-founders Kelly Jackson and Colin Read. The founders told WhatNow they are aiming for that late June soft opening and early July launch, pairing simulator bays with a workspace model designed for both golfers and remote workers.

Golfery's website calls the project "the first simulator lounge in Marin" and lays out co-working features that include bookable meeting rooms, a boardroom, phone booths, quiet work areas and a TV lounge. The site lists 647 Irwin Street as the address and offers a signup form for opening updates and membership launches. The founders say they plan to work with local vendors, teaching professionals and club fitters to keep the space plugged into Marin's golf community.

What the space will include

The facility will use Foresight simulator equipment across five bays, and one bay will feature a PuttView laser putting system that simulates breaks from distances of 25 feet or less, a setup WhatNow notes is not widely available on the West Coast. Industry testing and reviews have praised PuttView's laser-guided ball-tracking and interactive practice modes, according to MyGolfSpy.

Work, practice and local partnerships

Golfery positions itself as a hybrid "work and play" spot, with a snack and comfort station, self-pour beverage taps and a small roster of beer lines instead of a full kitchen. The layout is meant to handle lessons, club fitting appointments and small meetings while still feeling casual enough for drop-in simulator sessions. State business filings show Golfery Of Marin, LLC was registered in 2025 with Kelly Jackson listed as the registered agent, according to BizProfile.

When to expect it

If the founders' schedule holds, the late June soft opening will give neighbors an early look at the simulator bays and co-working areas before a larger early July celebration. The small footprint and flexible bookings suggest that evening tee times and weekend workshops will likely be the busiest slots.

For Marin golfers used to driving across the bridge for indoor simulators, Golfery could offer a closer option to work on swing numbers and short-game tech without leaving the county. Those interested can sign up for updates on the company's site or email [email protected] for more information.
