A newly surfaced surveillance clip is pulling a 2022 West Little River shooting back into the spotlight, showing the moments just before and after gunfire outside a neighborhood convenience store. The footage lays out a clearer timeline of how the ambush unfolded and how the shooter took off, in an attack that left one person dead and three others wounded.
Local 10 News obtained the video Friday and reports that it captures the minutes leading up to the killing and the getaway that followed, including what appear to be two cars pulling away from the scene. Local 10 News first covered the Feb. 16, 2022 shooting, noting that four people had been shot and one person was pronounced dead near Northwest 100th Street, about a block or two east of Northwest 22nd Avenue. Neighbors at the time told reporters they heard rapid, sustained gunfire.
What the footage shows
The surveillance clip opens with several people gathered outside the storefront, then captures a brief interaction before shots ring out. The scene quickly shifts from casual to chaotic as people scramble and vehicles speed away, creating a more complete sequence of events than the public had previously seen. While the recording is grainy in spots, the timeline it provides could help investigators or witnesses better piece together what happened in those crucial moments.
Police response and tips
Investigators described the attack in 2022 as appearing to be targeted and urged anyone with information to speak up. The Miami Police Department lists Crime Stoppers as the anonymous tip line at 305-471-TIPS and explains how residents can submit tips online, according to the Miami Police Department. It was not immediately clear from the latest report whether the newly released footage has generated any fresh leads.
County data and transparency
Miami-Dade agencies have leaned into transparency efforts in recent years. The sheriff’s office rolled out a public Crime Data Dashboard in 2025 so residents can track shootings and other offenses in near real time. The dashboard does not publish investigative materials such as surveillance video, but officials say the data tools help the public understand crime trends and where law enforcement resources are being deployed, per the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Local 10 News’ online coverage features the newly surfaced video alongside details from the original 2022 reporting. Anyone with information about the case can call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip through the program’s website, according to Crime Stoppers of Miami-Dade.
