Two 17-year-old boys were hospitalized after an overnight shooting in Schertz, with one teen reported in serious condition and the other in stable condition. Officers found the victims on the 2100 block of Red Bud Way early Wednesday after responding to reports of gunfire, and investigators said the attack appears to have been targeted.
As reported by KENS5, Schertz police said both teens were taken to Brooke Army Medical Center for treatment, and that next of kin have been notified. The department told KENS5 that detectives were canvassing the neighborhood while the scene remained active, as officers moved door to door looking for witnesses and any available video.
In a statement to KENS5, the Schertz Police Department said there is “no ongoing threat to the community,” while stressing that investigators believe the shooting was targeted. Authorities said the case is still developing as detectives track down leads.
Police Hunt For Suspect Vehicles, Witness Video
Police described two suspect vehicles: a mid-size white four-door sedan and a black SUV, both of which sped away from the area in an unknown direction. Anyone who saw the vehicles or has video or information tied to the incident is asked to contact the Schertz Police Department at (210) 619-1200.

Detectives said they will keep canvassing the neighborhood and reviewing any footage residents share while they process the scene and interview potential witnesses.
