A Miami woman is behind bars after a late-2025 shooting in Little River left a man critically wounded while he was riding an electric bike, authorities say. Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Jakeria Foster of Overtown and said surveillance footage helped investigators link her to the attack.
Officers were dispatched just after 6:30 p.m. on November 17, 2025, to the 7600 block of North Miami Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert flagged two gunshots. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his lower back who was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition, according to Local 10. Jail records and the arrest report state that Foster was located this week, charged with attempted second-degree murder and illegal use or display of a firearm while committing a felony, and is being held without bond at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Video, witnesses and recovered evidence
Detectives reviewing surveillance footage from Zanmi Market and a nearby home say the video shows a heavy-set woman in white following the rider, then appearing to fire at him. The clip also captures the woman shouting, "I told your a** to not come around here," after the gunshot, as reported by Local 10. Investigators said a witness later identified Foster as the shooter and that clothing believed to have been worn during the incident was recovered from a laundry room in the 7600 block of North Miami Avenue.
Arrest and custody
Police said they tracked Foster down and arrested her near the intersection of Northwest Second Court and Northwest Seventh Street. She declined to speak with investigators, according to authorities. Jail records list her as being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, operated by Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation.
Investigation ongoing
Authorities say the motive behind the November 17 shooting remains unclear, and the case is still very much active. Officials have not released the victim's identity or any upcoming court dates, and detectives continue to review video evidence and witness statements as the investigation moves forward.
