An overnight argument inside a Pembroke Park bar ended with a man shot multiple times outside the strip-mall business, according to police. Officers found the victim outside the establishment and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue rushed him to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, where he is listed in stable condition. Witnesses and police said the suspect took off before detectives could get to the scene.
Deputy Chief Jason Ochoa told Local 10 that officers responded to Thirsty’s Liquor Bar and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside the business. Ochoa said the gunfire appears to have followed an argument inside the bar and that the Broward Sheriff’s Office is assisting Pembroke Park detectives with the investigation. The victim was conscious when first responders arrived, Ochoa told Local 10.
Scene and Past Incidents
State licensing records list the business, sometimes identified as Thirsty’s II, at 4426 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd in Pembroke Park, matching the strip-mall address where the shooting occurred. It is not the first time that block has seen flashing lights and crime-scene tape: as reported by CBS Miami, a 2022 shooting brought investigators to the same strip of businesses. Recurring incidents at busy commercial corridors have led investigators in similar cases to lean heavily on surveillance footage and witness statements.
Investigation and How to Help
Ochoa described the suspect to Local 10 as a white or light-skinned male wearing a light-colored shirt, pants and a hat who fled east on West Hallandale Beach Boulevard in a silver SUV, according to the station’s report. The Broward Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the probe and detectives are reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses.
Authorities are asking anyone with information or video to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
The investigation remains active, and Pembroke Park police say they will release more details as they become available. Residents who might have relevant footage or information are urged to reach out to investigators directly or submit an anonymous tip through the Crime Stoppers portal.
