Perch Bistro and Bar, the pizza, pasta and cocktail spot on Inwood Road, is bowing out after dinner service on April 4, owner Lynae Fearing said. The two-year-old restaurant has struggled to draw enough regulars and has not turned a profit since it opened. Fearing said she plans to invite Perch employees to work at her neighboring restaurants and called the decision heartbreaking, adding, "I just can’t take it anymore."
As reported by The Dallas Morning News, Fearing confirmed the April 4 closing and said promotions like $7 martinis on "Tini Tuesday" and half-price bottles of wine on Wednesdays were not enough to build a steady customer base. The outlet notes that Perch will be open through dinner service that night and that the owner tried months of tweaks before deciding to shutter the Inwood Road spot.
Short Run in a Familiar Space
Perch arrived in August 2024 when the owners rebranded Dea into a more casual pizza and pasta bistro aimed at neighborhood diners. An early look from the Dallas Observer highlighted shareable starters like the "Dip Dip Dip," wood-fired pizzas and fried green tomatoes as menu standouts. Perch's own website lists the address and dinner hours for the Inwood Road location.
Owner’s Restaurant Group and Next Steps
Fearing is the majority owner of the group that includes Shinsei and Lovers Seafood and Market after a 2025 ownership shuffle, per The Dallas Morning News. She told reporters the closure was not driven by rising food costs or rent, but by a lack of enough regular guests to justify continuing to invest. Fearing said she hopes as many Perch staffers as possible will move over to the other restaurants while the Inwood space is turned over.
Perch will be open for reservations and walk-ins through dinner on April 4, and the restaurant's site shows hours and contact information for last-minute bookings. For details on reservations and hours, see Perch Bistro and Bar's website.
