Overnight gunfire rattled a southwest Charlotte neighborhood earlier today when a person was shot and rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries in the Steele Creek area, officials said.
The shooting was reported a little before 4 a.m. along Kings Branch Way. Police and emergency crews responded to the scene, and investigators remained on-site working the case. No information about a possible suspect had been released as of earlier today.

According to WCNC, Medic crews reported that one person was transported from Kings Branch Way with life-threatening injuries after they arrived at the scene shortly before 4 a.m. Medic is the Mecklenburg EMS Agency, which provides primary emergency medical services across the county.
