ABC's prime-time revival Press Your Luck, hosted by Elizabeth Banks, is packing up the “Big Board” and heading to metro Atlanta. Season 7 will tape at Trilith Studios in Fayetteville next month, with production scheduled from April 11 to 26, marking a move of the show from Los Angeles to the Atlanta area.
Season 7 Taping Dates And Location
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Season 7 is slated to be in production from April 11 to 26 at Fayetteville’s Trilith Studios, based on information sent to IATSE Local 479, the union that represents most crew members. The move shifts the tapings to the Atlanta area after previous seasons were filmed in Los Angeles.
Elizabeth Banks Remains Host
Elizabeth Banks is not going anywhere. She has hosted the reboot since its 2019 premiere and also serves as an executive producer. According to ABC Press, the series is produced by Fremantle and pits contestants against the “Big Board” for cash, prizes and a bonus round that can climb as high as $1 million.
Why Producers Are Choosing Georgia
Game shows have been steadily drifting toward Georgia, and this is one more example. Producers are chasing a familiar mix of tax incentives, lower day-to-day production costs and a sizable regional pool of would-be contestants. As reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, several syndicated and network game shows have already staged tapings at Trilith and other local studios in recent seasons.
Trilith's Facilities And What To Expect
Trilith Studios, a sprawling production campus south of Atlanta, is built to handle this kind of high-energy, live-audience show. Wikipedia notes that the Fayetteville complex includes multiple soundstages and infrastructure that supports both scripted and unscripted productions, which makes it a natural fit for a prime-time game show setup.
Local Crew And Business Bump
For local crew, the two-week taping window is a quick but welcome burst of work for grips, lighting technicians and a host of vendors. IATSE Local 479 represents many of those below-the-line workers across Georgia, and nearby businesses typically see a short, noticeable bump while productions like Press Your Luck are in town.
