A neighborhood dispute on a Clearwater residential block turned into a violent crime scene Tuesday night, leaving a woman fighting for her life and a Clearwater police officer wounded after a stabbing just before 9 p.m.
Officers were called to the 1300 block of Wood Drive, where investigators say a female suspect attacked a woman, then stabbed an officer who arrived on scene. The suspect was taken into custody at the location and remains jailed as the case unfolds.
What Investigators Say
According to the Tampa Free Press, emergency crews treated the injured woman on scene before rushing her to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital as a trauma alert. Her injuries were described as potentially life‑threatening.
The officer who was stabbed was taken to Morton Plant Hospital. Department representatives said the officer’s injuries are believed to be non‑life‑threatening.
