A Friday night shooting on the 300 block of MC Wilder Road in Franklin County left a Louisburg man with potentially life-threatening injuries and turned the stretch into an active crime scene, officials said. Deputies reported the incident involved two men and happened just after 8:30 p.m., and investigators stayed on scene into the night.
According to WRAL, Franklin County Emergency Management said deputies have not released the names of anyone involved and that the investigation is ongoing. WRAL also reported it has reached out to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for additional comment. Officials have not yet responded publicly, and more details are expected as the case develops.

MC Wilder Road runs through Louisburg, and the Town of Louisburg lists multiple MC Wilder Road addresses in its business directory, indicating the corridor includes both homes and small businesses. WRAL reported the victim was transported to WakeMed’s Raleigh campus with injuries described as potentially life-threatening. According to WakeMed, the Raleigh campus is located at 3000 New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.
