An early Monday apartment fire off Refugee Road in Violet Township escalated to a two-alarm response, pulling in fire crews from multiple jurisdictions as smoke and flames pushed through parts of the building. Units from Madison Township, Truro Township and Columbus joined Violet Township firefighters at the scene. Officials did not immediately report a cause or any injuries.
Mutual aid crews fought the blaze
Violet Township Fire Department shared photos from the scene and credited Madison Twp. professional fire fighters, IAFF Local 2507, Columbus Firefighters Union Local 67, and Truro Township Fire Department, with assistance. The department described the incident as a "2-alarm apartment fire" off Refugee Road and posted images from responding units, noting that some of the photos were provided by Box 15.
Box 15's role and photos
Box 15, a Franklin County mutual-aid rehab and support organization, notes in its materials that it provides services to public safety agencies across Franklin County and nearby townships. The Box 15 Annual Report outlines how the group backs up first responders at larger incidents, which helps explain why its crews and photographers were on site for Monday's fire.
Details remain limited
The fire department's Facebook post did not include information on injuries, damage estimates, or a possible cause, and no additional official statement was available at the time of publication. Violet Township lists the fire department's headquarters on Refugee Road for contact details and general information.
