A convicted sex offender with two prior convictions is back behind bars after authorities say he was caught in a child pornography case just outside Poteet. Charles DeSalem was arrested Tuesday near the intersection of Majestic Oaks Drive and Menchaca Lane following a grand jury indictment on a charge of possession of child pornography, according to local officials. Deputies booked DeSalem into the Atascosa County Jail without incident. Investigators have not yet disclosed what they allege was found in the case, and they have not said whether they expect any additional arrests.
According to WOAI, the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest on its Facebook page and reported that deputies took DeSalem into custody in the Majestic Oaks Drive and Menchaca Lane area. WOAI notes that the arrest and booking were carried out without incident and that the grand jury indictment charges DeSalem with possession of child pornography.
