A drug raid in Roxbury on Tuesday turned up a stash that looked more like a kid’s breakfast shelf than a trafficking operation, according to Boston police. By the time officers were done searching, they had seized nearly 50 grams of crack cocaine, two loaded handguns and thousands in cash, and had two men in cuffs.

Boston police say the operation was part of a broader, multi-location drug investigation. Officers arrested 33-year-old Tony Boston and 37-year-old David Walker, who are both expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

According to the department, Drug Control Units from District B-3 (Mattapan) and C-11 (Dorchester) executed three search warrants: one for a vehicle, one for the primary target of the investigation and one for a residence at 60 West Walnut Park in Roxbury. Inside, officers reported recovering 47 grams of crack cocaine, a CZ-P07 loaded with 20 rounds, a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield with five rounds, an empty extended magazine, three additional empty magazines, multiple loose rounds of ammunition, 32 foil bags of marijuana, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, two cell phones and $4,280 in U.S. currency. The department’s online post includes the full inventory of items seized during the operation, according to the Boston Police Department.

Cereal Box ‘Breakfast’ Used To Hide Crack, Blotter Says

The more surreal detail came from local blotter coverage, which noted that bags of crack were tucked inside packaging made to look like children’s breakfast cereals. Those knockoff boxes were described as “mostly” featuring the word “littlez” and mimicking familiar brands and mascots like Frosted Flakes, Lucky Charms and Froot Loops, according to reporting by the Boston Herald.

Charges And Next Steps

Police say Boston is facing a long list of charges, including possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large-capacity firearm, trafficking of cocaine (36 grams or more, less than 100 grams), possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance, receiving stolen property and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Walker is charged with possession of a firearm without an FID card and possession of ammunition without an FID card. Both men are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court, according to Boston 25 News.
