A tense scene unfolded on San Antonio’s East Side Sunday night when a man in his 40s, wounded during an altercation, walked into a Little Caesars restaurant seeking help after being shot, police said. The victim had been hit in the neck and shoulder and was rushed to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he was reported in stable condition. Officers said the suspected shooter took off on foot, and investigators followed a blood trail toward Potomac Street and North New Braunfels Avenue as they searched the surrounding neighborhood.

According to KENS5, officers and emergency crews were dispatched to the 600 block of North New Braunfels Avenue near East Houston Street after initial reports of a shooting. San Antonio police, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded and later located the wounded man inside the Little Caesars at Dawson Street and North New Braunfels Avenue, the station reported. Investigators said they canvassed the area for witnesses and physical evidence while the suspect remained at large.
