A Saturday evening domestic disturbance on a quiet Pearsall block turned violent when gunfire left two people wounded and neighbors staring at police tape instead of a calm weekend sunset. Officers say one suspect is already in custody and that the immediate threat is over.
The shooting unfolded on W Blas Street, where Pearsall police and Frio County sheriff’s deputies swarmed the scene, blocking off the street and temporarily shutting down nearby Medical Drive while they worked the investigation. A man and a woman were rushed to a San Antonio hospital for treatment, and authorities emphasized that there is no ongoing danger to the public.
According to KSAT, officers with the Pearsall Police Department were called out around 6 p.m. on reports of shots fired on W Blas Street. The Frio County Sheriff’s Office urged residents to steer clear of the area while Medical Drive was closed off and crime scene tape went up. One suspect is in custody, though authorities have not publicly identified the person, and investigators are still working to sort out who actually pulled the trigger.
Chief Says No Active Danger
Pearsall Police Chief Daniel Flores told KSAT that "there is no active danger to the public" and that the man who was shot may also be a suspect. Detectives have not yet been able to interview him, and Flores said his team is still processing the scene and chasing down leads as the case remains very much open.
