
A robbery at a southwest Houston business turned chaotic Thursday evening when shots were fired at a store clerk, one suspect was arrested, and police launched a neighborhood-wide search for a second person, according to the Houston Police Department. No injuries were reported.
Officers responded to the 9500 block of Woodfair Drive, where they took one person into custody and recovered a firearm. Westside patrol officers, K9 teams and the Air (Fox) unit were all called in to help lock down the area and look for evidence and witnesses.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers were called to a business in the 9500 block of Woodfair Drive, where a suspect allegedly fired shots at a store clerk during the robbery. One suspect was detained at the scene and a firearm was recovered.
Investigators say they believe at least one additional person is connected to the crime. As of Thursday night, officers were still canvassing the area for that second suspect while gathering statements and potential video from nearby businesses and residents.

The stretch of Woodfair includes strip centers and apartment complexes and has seen violence before; FOX 26 Houston reported a fatal shooting on the same street in February 2025.

Authorities are urging anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery, or who has photos or video from the 9500 block of Woodfair Drive, to contact Houston police or submit tips to Crime Stoppers. Officials say that anyone witnessing an unfolding emergency should call 911 immediately.
