A farmhouse fit-out
Construction on the Barn kicked off on January 2, and the turnaround was fast. The buildout brought in reclaimed wood accents, new floors, and hightops, with the design handled by Eli Hariton of Damn Good Interiors, as reported by Westword. The space previously housed the Whiskey Biscuit and sits right next to Moe's Original BBQ and Bowling. The owners say they moved quickly to lock in the storefront after sizing up the steady foot traffic along that stretch of South Broadway.
Menu and price points
The Barn's menu sticks to polished American staples, the kind of dishes that do well for both date nights and family tables. Diners will find steak and potatoes, smoked chicken, roast pork, blackened salmon and shrimp and grits, with appetizers in the 8 to 13 dollar range, salads around 8 to 14 dollars, burgers and sandwiches roughly 16 to 19 dollars, and dinner mains topping out near 27 dollars, as reported by Westword. The full bar pours beer and wine alongside eight signature cocktails priced between 11 and 15 dollars. In the kitchen, several cooks have come over from Brider, and the owners say they want the Barn to be known as a restaurant first, with an emphasis on sit-down service and hospitality.
