
A late-night blaze ripped through several units at the Greenbrier Apartments along Franklin Pike in South Nashville on Wednesday, sending one person to the hospital and forcing multiple households to rush out into the night. Neighbors described frantic door-to-door knocks as people scrambled to get out before the flames spread.
Nashville Fire Department crews said flames were first reported just before 11 p.m. and that at least three apartments were affected. At least one person was inside when the fire started and was taken to a hospital, where officials say that person is expected to survive, according to WSMV.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and crews stayed on scene into the early morning hours, according to WSMV.
