A late-night fight inside a South Side business ended with gunfire near the intersection of Frebis and Fairwood avenues, leaving one person in critical condition and a security guard under arrest as police flooded the area overnight.
The trouble kicked off inside the business late Saturday, where officials say a confrontation escalated when security stepped in. Around 11:45 p.m., officers were called to the scene after the fight, and investigators say a security guard fired their weapon and hit a person, as reported by WSYX.
The victim was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, and the shooter was taken into custody, according to the station. Police kept the area around Frebis and Fairwood closed as detectives worked the scene overnight. Authorities have not released the names of the security guard or the victim.
