A late-night argument inside a southwest Houston home ended with a husband and wife shooting each other with the same gun, according to police.

The violent confrontation broke out around 11:30 p.m. Saturday at a house on Danfield Drive near Vandalia Way. Investigators said what started as a domestic disturbance between the couple spiraled into gunfire, leaving both spouses wounded and rushed to nearby hospitals in stable condition.

Officers said that during the fight, one of the two pulled a handgun. At some point in the struggle, both the husband and wife were struck by shots fired from that same weapon. Authorities have not released any information about possible charges or a motive in the case.

What police said

"Officers spoke with other people at the residence, and they learned this was a domestic disturbance between a husband and a wife," Lt. Khan told KPRC Click2Houston. Police said one of the pair pulled out a firearm and, in an unusual turn, both were struck by shots from the same weapon. Both were taken to area hospitals and were listed in stable condition, the station reported.
