A tense Monday evening in Spring ended with a quick arrest after a man allegedly fired a handgun at a construction worker and bolted on foot, authorities said.
Deputies with Harris County Constable Precinct 4 locked down the area and arrested the suspect in the 2200 block of Spring Stuebner Road following a brief chase, according to Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
Herman said the man allegedly confronted a nearby construction worker, discharged a firearm, then took off running. The constable later posted an update reading “update: evading suspect in custody” along with photos from the scene.
How Deputies Boxed In the Suspect
“Deputies established a police perimeter,” the precinct’s post noted, and additional units joined the search to track down the suspect, according to Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4. Photos from the scene show deputies fanning out through yards and staging along the roadway as they closed in.
Spring Stuebner Again Becomes Manhunt Central
This stretch of north Harris County has become a familiar backdrop for similar manhunts in recent months, with agencies frequently rolling out K-9 units, drones and air support, as cops swarm Spring intersection reported. That pattern has pushed the precinct to lean harder on social media and its C4 NOW app to blast real-time alerts to nearby residents.
Legal Note
Under Texas law, deadly conduct can be charged as a misdemeanor or as a felony when a firearm is discharged. That distinction is laid out in Texas Penal Code §22.05. Prosecutors will decide whether to seek additional charges as the investigation moves forward.
All charges are allegations at this stage, and the case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the precinct’s non-emergency line or follow updates on the precinct website, per Harris County Precinct 4.
