Tulsa-based dessert chain Sugar Llamas is rolling into the Sacramento suburbs, with franchisees eyeing a July or August 2026 debut for new shops in Roseville and Rocklin. The fast-casual concept blends made-to-order warm mini donuts, premium ice cream and a full coffee lineup, aiming squarely at families, students and anyone who thinks “over-the-top” is a compliment when it comes to sweets.
Where They’ll Land
According to What Now Sacramento, the Roseville shop is slated for 8300 Sierra College Blvd, Suite I and will be roughly 2,000 square feet, with seating for about 36 inside plus a 12-seat patio. The Rocklin location is planned for 3051 Stanford Ranch Rd, Suite D1 and is expected to have a smaller footprint at about 1,200 square feet, with space for around 16 people inside and another 16 outside.
What To Expect On The Menu
The brand leans hard into warm mini donuts made to order in more than 20 flavors, plus stacked sundaes, waffle sundaes and a towering “Mega” milkshake. The lineup also includes a full roster of coffee drinks, frappes and Red Bull mixers. Those menu highlights come from the company itself and are detailed on Sugar Llamas’ site, which pitches the concept as a one-stop dessert-and-coffee destination.
Who’s Bringing The Chain Here
The local openings are led by husband-and-wife franchisees Travis and Janelle Hawkins, with Travis’ brother Tyler also involved with a planned Modesto location, the reporting says. What Now Sacramento notes the brand, founded in 2021 by Dallas and Robyn Jones, says it has expansion plans across eight states and 33 locations under contract.
Why It Matters Locally
The push into Roseville and Rocklin adds another family-focused dessert option to two fast-growing suburban retail corridors. With a mix of study-friendly seating and shareable menu items, the shops are being positioned for students cramming for exams, shoppers refueling between errands and anyone looking for a low-key hangout that smells like fresh donuts.
