Dublin-based Desi Pizza Bites is getting ready to roll its Indian-Italian fusion pies into Carmichael, taking over a space at the San Juan Center and bringing tandoori-topped slices to the neighborhood. The mini chain, known for combos like tandoori chicken and chilli paneer, plans a compact dining room along with a spread of snacks, kababs and wraps. Franchisee Rajdeep Singh is in the permit phase and plans to announce an opening date once paperwork and prep work are locked in, continuing a regional rollout that started after the brand’s 2024 launch.

A Carmichael location is listed as “Coming Soon” on the Desi Pizza Bites locations page, which identifies the San Juan Center as the planned address. The company groups Carmichael with several other in-the-works California and New York stores, signaling that this is part of a broader expansion push rather than a one-off experiment.
From a long-running pizzeria to a fusion newcomer
Leasing documents and the shopping center’s site plan show that the incoming Desi Pizza Bites will occupy the same suite long used by a neighborhood pizzeria. The previous tenant still lists a Carmichael presence at the plaza on the Pasquale's Italian Pizzeria website, while a suite map included in LoopNet leasing materials shows the space as part of the San Juan Center lineup. In other words, a long-timer is giving way to a fusion upstart.
What to expect on the menu
The Carmichael store is expected to stick close to the brand’s formula, pairing familiar pizzeria staples with heavily spiced Indian-inspired creations. According to the chain’s online menu, Desi Pizza Bites highlights specialty pies like Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka and Achari alongside standbys such as Margherita and BBQ Chicken. Appetizers, kababs, wraps and shareable sides round out the offerings, with desserts and small plates like mini churros and jalapeño poppers included in the standard lineup.

Singh told What Now Sacramento that he is still finalizing permits for the Carmichael buildout and will go public with an official opening date once that work is complete. The space is slated for cosmetic upgrades before debut, and the dining room is expected to seat more than 20 guests. That schedule leaves time for inspections and city approvals before the team commits to a firm launch day.
