Terrabank is trading its Coral Way digs for the heart of downtown Coral Gables, shifting its corporate headquarters to the Columbus Center at One Alhambra Plaza and adding a new ground-floor banking center for walk-in customers. The bank plans to take over two full floors, complete with an outdoor terrace and covered parking, and expects the relocation to be wrapped up by March 31, 2026.
The new headquarters will total roughly 40,000 square feet across those two levels and will be built out by Pradere Designer Workspaces, according to a press release. Calling it “a defining moment for the bank,” Francisco Martinez framed the move as a milestone, while CEO Antonio Uribe said the relocation “strengthens Terrabank's domestic presence and allows expansion of its reach,” as reported by Community Newspapers.
What the filings show
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's corporate applications database shows that Terrabank filed for the relocation in August 2025, with approval granted in September 2025. The filing lists the new main office as 5 Alhambra Plaza in the Columbus Center and the prior main office as 3191 Coral Way. That federal paperwork lays out the regulatory trail for the move and formally records the change of main office. See the OCC record for the filing details.
About the building
The Alhambra/Columbus Center sits in the core of Coral Gables' business district and is marketed as Class A office space, with downtown views, secure covered parking and walkable access to Giralda Avenue and Miracle Mile. Recent ownership and financing activity around the complex highlights its appeal to tenants looking for upgraded, amenity-rich downtown offices. Materials from JLL on the Alhambra describe the building’s amenities and its central location in the downtown area.
Why Coral Gables
Coral Gables has been steadily pulling in corporate tenants in recent years, with local commercial reporting noting a stream of multinational and tech firms that has pushed up demand for high-quality downtown office space. That broader momentum, including more headquarters and headline-grabbing leases, helps explain why a community bank with growing international ties would choose to consolidate operations in the Gables. Miami Today has tracked the wave of relocations reshaping the city’s business core.
What customers and staff can expect
Earlier Spanish-language coverage pegged the initial footprint closer to 33,000 square feet, a sign that the project’s timeline and sizing have evolved as plans were refined. Terrabank’s website lists customer support numbers and branch contact information for clients who need assistance while the move plays out. Customers are directed to the bank’s contact page for current phone numbers and operating hours.
Timeline and next steps
As reported in the initial bank release, the relocation is scheduled to be completed by March 31, 2026, with the current Coral Way location remaining open while the new downtown banking center is finished. The move will centralize Terrabank’s corporate operations in a walkable downtown setting and establish a new public-facing banking center for customers. A formal opening date and customer hours are expected to be announced once the interior build-out is complete.
