According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the March 26 recall covers about 122,000 Vive Health units across three models: the Compact Bed Rail (LVA2009SLV), Bed Rail Collection V (LVA2097SLV) and the Vive Health Bed Rail (LVA1024). The rails were sold at medical-supply stores and online from September 2019 through December 2025.
Regulators say the products violate the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails because users can become trapped within the rail or between the rail and the mattress, which can lead to death by asphyxiation. The action is listed as recall number 26-341 on the CPSC website.
Company instructions and refunds
On its recall page, Vive Health tells customers to stop using the recalled rails and contact the company for a full refund. Owners are instructed to write “RECALLED” on both the upper and lower portions of the rail, place a piece of paper with the buyer’s name next to the marked parts, photograph them, then email the photo to [email protected].
After that, customers are told to dispose of the product according to local rules. Vive Health has set up a toll-free line at 800-487-3808 to handle questions and refund processing.
How the recall expanded
The March 26 action widens an earlier recall the company issued in February that covered a much smaller batch of rails. That initial notice involved about 12,355 units of certain LVA1024 and LVA3031BLK models bought after August 21, 2023. The latest recall pulls in older sales and additional models going back to September 2019.
The expanded scope followed a review of incident reports and other information gathered by regulators and the importer, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
