A 16-year-old boy died Friday after falling from an elevated surface inside Bushwick Inlet Park in Williamsburg, according to police sources. Officers found the teenager with severe head trauma near North 10th Street and Kent Avenue just after 1 p.m. He was taken by emergency medical personnel to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police sources told News 12 New York that the boy was discovered inside the park, and investigators were at the scene Friday afternoon. Authorities have not publicly released the teen's name or explained how he fell. The NYPD has characterized the case as an active investigation.
