Late Monday night, a woman in her 30s was shot while sitting in the passenger seat of a car in a parking lot near NRG Park, leaving her in critical condition. The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. on Westridge Street, where witnesses stayed at the scene as first responders rushed her to a nearby hospital. Police taped off part of the lot while investigators searched the area for clues.
According to KHOU, Houston police said the woman was struck once in the neck while inside the vehicle and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities have not released her name or shared any information about a possible motive. Investigators are also working to determine whether the suspect and the victim knew each other.
Suspect In Dark Hoodie, Witnesses Describe Quick Getaway
KHOU reported that HPD Lt. Horelica described the suspect as wearing a "dark color hoodie," and witnesses said the person had been inside the same vehicle before running off on foot. Officers were seen canvassing nearby lots and checking surveillance and doorbell footage in an effort to stitch together the timeline of what happened.

As of Tuesday morning, no arrests had been made, and Houston police urged anyone with information to contact investigators.
