A Pontotoc County courtroom handed down a steep sentence Wednesday, as 26-year-old Bryan Countryman of Ada was ordered to serve 45 years in prison after his conviction on multiple counts tied to child sexual abuse material. Of that punishment, the court ordered 30 years to be served in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, with the remaining 15 years suspended. Countryman had been convicted on Tuesday and was originally arrested after a search warrant was served at his Ada home on October 27, 2025.
According to a press release from the OSBI, special agents with the agency’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit identified Countryman as the internet user at the center of the investigation and said they recovered digital evidence tying him to the case. The bureau reported that Countryman “possessed 100 or more separate materials depicting child sexual abuse” and that some of those files were allegedly distributed through social media platforms. OSBI also credited assistance from the Ada Police Department, the Payne County Sheriff’s Office and the District 22 District Attorney’s Office as the case moved forward.

Investigation Began After a CyberTip
OSBI said the case started when its ICAC unit received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the federal clearinghouse that routes reports of suspected online child sexual exploitation to state and local agencies. The CyberTipline is the central reporting channel used by internet companies and members of the public to flag suspected child sexual abuse material and other online threats to children. For details on how those reports are submitted and routed, see the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline.
Charges, Evidence and Agencies Involved
Pontotoc County prosecutors charged Countryman with aggravated possession of child sexual abuse material, child sexual exploitation, obscene material and violations of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act, according to OSBI. Agents said they seized more than 100 separate items during the October search and allege that some of the material was distributed through social media platforms. The bureau again pointed to the combined efforts of local and regional partners for investigative assistance as the case moved from arrest to conviction and, ultimately, sentencing.
Sentence Terms and What Comes Next
The court’s 45-year sentence includes 30 years to be served in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, with 15 years suspended, as reported by OSBI. Countryman was booked into the Pontotoc County jail following his October 2025 arrest, and OSBI did not specify when he will be transferred to state custody. Any appeals or additional court filings will proceed through the state court system under standard procedures.
