
Two men were shot Sunday afternoon in South City, leaving one of them in critical condition, according to police. Officers were called to the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Arsenal Street after what investigators described as an apparent exchange of gunfire. First Alert 4 crews were on scene as homicide detectives were requested to respond.
According to KMOV, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police wrote on X that detectives were asked to respond to the area after what appears to have been an exchange of gunfire, and "One man is in critical condition." The SLMPD post provided the department's initial update from officers at the scene.
