A suspected burglar’s getaway in Aloha ended in a mangled mess in Beaverton on Thursday, after a short pursuit wrapped with a head-on crash and a search through neighborhood yards.
Deputies say a Beaverton man tied to a recent burglary took off in a 1994 Toyota Camry when a Washington County deputy tried to pull him over. The deputy had spotted the Camry, which investigators believe was linked to the earlier crime, and attempted a traffic stop.
The driver chose to run instead. With traffic already backing up ahead, deputies quickly ended the pursuit for safety. That did not stop the chaos. Callers soon reported a head-on collision at SW Farmington Road and SW 141st Avenue, where the Camry slammed into another vehicle and shoved it into a third. People in the other cars suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene, according to KATU.
With the Camry disabled, deputies found a passenger near SW Farmington Road and SW Kinnaman Road as officers converged on the crash site, KATU reported. The driver, however, bolted on foot.
Drone Tracks Suspect Through Yards, Deputies Move In
Instead of a helicopter spotlight, this chase wrapped with an eye in the sky of a different kind. A county Drone as First Responder operator helped track the suspect after the crash, launching a second drone that spotted him moving through residential yards and guided patrol units in for the arrest, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies arrested 32-year-old Jesus Cisneros-Vite of Beaverton and booked him into the Washington County Jail. He faces charges that include attempting to elude in a vehicle, reckless driving, two counts of hit-and-run, criminal mischief and a felony warrant from the Department of Corrections.
The capture unfolded during Washington County’s Drone as First Responder trial period. “In 2025 alone, our interagency drone team deployed nearly 650 times,” Sheriff Caprice Massey wrote about the program, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies Want to Hear From Neighbors and Drivers
Investigators are still digging into the burglary tied to the Camry and are asking for more eyes and ears from the community. Anyone who saw the crash, the pursuit, or the suspect running through the area, and who has not yet spoken with deputies, is asked to call non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111 and reference case No. 50-26-4502.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office and local partners are particularly interested in hearing from neighbors or passing drivers who may have dash-cam or home surveillance video that captured any part of the incident, according to KATU.
