
A search warrant service turned deadly last night in Barr Township, Cambria County, when state police shot and killed a wanted suspect who, investigators say, emerged from nearby woods and opened fire on troopers outside a private residence. No civilians or officers were injured, and authorities are withholding the person’s identity until family members are notified.
State Police Detail Confrontation Outside Rural Home
Troopers were attempting to serve a search warrant at a home in Barr Township when the suspect reportedly came out of a wooded area with a handgun and began firing at them. Troopers returned fire, killing the suspect. State police said there were no other injuries in the exchange, according to WJAC.

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop A Major Case Team has been activated to investigate the shooting, and the troopers involved have been placed on administrative duty, the release said.
