San Antonio police are hunting for two men accused of turning a beer grab into a death threat at a Northwest Side convenience store. Investigators say the confrontation went down just after 3 p.m. on March 27 at the Pit Stop Food Mart off Babcock Road near Hillcrest Drive.
Police release photo, appeal for tips
According to WOAI, officers say the two men grabbed beer and tried to walk out of the store without paying. When the clerk confronted them, the suspects allegedly threatened to shoot and kill the employee.
The San Antonio Police Department released a photo from the scene that investigators hope will help identify the pair. Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the men to contact authorities and help close the case.
Store has been targeted before
This is not the first time the Pit Stop Food Mart on Babcock has drawn police attention. KSAT reported that SAPD was looking for persons of interest after an attempted robbery at the same spot in October 2023.
The Babcock Road Pit Stop is listed by Midtex Oil at 1203 Babcock Road. City reporting has shown how quickly these kinds of convenience store confrontations can escalate. The San Antonio Express-News detailed a case last August where a store clerk suffered life-threatening injuries while trying to stop a beer theft.
