Drivers along San Vicente got an unwelcome bit of live drama Monday evening when firefighters rushed to a structure fire in Beverly Grove after the Los Angeles Fire Department pushed out an alert for 321 S. San Vicente Blvd. The brief notice named Fire Station 61 among the first-responding companies and linked to a map and incident details. As of the latest update, officials had not released a full report on injuries or the cause of the fire.
LAFD: Flames Showing From Second Floor Of Under-Construction High-Rise
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, arriving crews found a 13-story residential high-rise under construction, wrapped in scaffolding, with fire showing from the second floor. The incident commander on San Vicente requested two additional task forces, set up a Rapid Intervention Group and notified the city's Building and Safety department while companies worked the scene. The alert listed a long roster of engine, truck and rescue companies and identified FS61 as first-in on the call.
Witness Accounts And Scanner Chatter Point To Heavy Smoke, Fast Knockdown
Local scanner logs and neighborhood message threads described visible smoke and flames near the Beverly Center and reported that the blaze was showing on the Charlie side of the building. Some posts later indicated that crews had achieved a knockdown. Reddit carried photos and firsthand play-by-plays from nearby residents as firefighters worked.
San Vicente Address Has Prior Fire History
This particular stretch of San Vicente is no stranger to fire engines. Local outlets reported a separate fire at 321 S. San Vicente last August that sent a woman to the hospital with serious burns. Beverly Press covered the 2025 incident and noted that LAFD arson investigators were involved at that time.
At the time of the department's latest post, LAFD had not provided a cause or a complete account of injuries from Monday's blaze, and that social post remained the primary public update. The alert on X links to a map and incident details, and officials typically add follow-ups there as investigations and damage assessments move forward.
