The Hill Country property will combine on-site winemaking and tastings with a storefront for Republic’s handcrafted cowboy boots, turning a castle on the 290 Wine Trail into what the company is calling a destination for both wine fans and boot shoppers.
As reported by What Now San Antonio, Republic confirmed the Johnson City site at 101 Durango and said the venue will operate as both a working winery and a new brick-and-mortar for its boots. CultureMap San Antonio adds that the brand plans to debut a Texas-made wine using fruit grown in Johnson City and will mark the occasion with live music and custom boot fittings during a May 1-3 opening weekend.
