
A 13-year-old boy was grazed by a bullet Friday afternoon while inside his home on Chicago's Far South Side, police said. The round struck a residence on the 9900 block of South Paxton Avenue in the Jeffrey Manor neighborhood, and the boy was taken to a hospital in good condition with a graze wound to his leg.
What Police Say Happened
According to ABC7 Chicago, the shooting occurred at about 4:08 p.m., and investigators believe the bullet that hit the home came from outside the residence. Authorities told reporters they were continuing to investigate and had no further details late Friday.
Nearby History of Violence
The 9900 block of South Paxton Avenue has seen other serious incidents in recent months. WGN reported a fatal shooting there in February that left a man dead, a recurrence that highlights ongoing gun violence on parts of the Far South Side.
