
A Friday evening stabbing at Ohio State's Lincoln Tower turf fields sent one person to the hospital and left another detained by police, according to university officials. The incident drew a heavy response from university police and medical crews to the fields behind Lincoln Tower off Cannon Drive.
A university spokesperson told WBNS the stabbing happened at about 7:45 p.m. The victim was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and one person was detained by university police at the scene. The spokesperson did not release the victim's condition, and the university said the case remains under investigation.
Where It Happened
Ohio State Recreational Sports lists Lincoln Tower Park's turf fields, south of Ohio Stadium and between the RPAC and Lincoln Tower, at 1790 Cannon Drive, the campus site where the incident occurred. The Wexner Medical Center is the university's main hospital complex on West 10th Avenue, where the victim was treated, according to the university report.
Investigation And Response
The university spokesperson told WBNS the stabbing followed an altercation between two groups and that those involved were not affiliated with Ohio State. University police said the matter is under investigation and have not publicly identified suspects or announced any charges.
