A woman was wounded late Monday in a drive-by shooting in South Los Angeles after a vehicle rolled up to her home and opened fire, according to police. Officers responded around 10:10 p.m. to the 1100 block of Willowbrook Avenue at East 111th Street, where the woman was inside her residence when the shots came through.
She received treatment at the scene before being taken to a hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, authorities said. As of early Tuesday, investigators had not released any suspect description or details about the vehicle involved.
Investigation Underway
As reported by MyNewsLA, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service that a car pulled up to the woman's window and fired multiple rounds. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics later transported her to the hospital, where she remained in stable condition.
Police had not shared any information on a possible suspect or the suspect vehicle in their latest updates, leaving detectives to lean heavily on witness accounts, home surveillance footage, or any tips that might come in.

The shooting adds to a run of violent incidents in parts of South L.A., where analysts have noted that higher shooting rates have clustered "south of the 10 freeway." L.A. magazine has broken down data on where shootings have been rising, and Kills Suspect in Westmont covered another April incident in a nearby neighborhood that brought a large police presence.
