Authorities Detail What Deputies Found Inside
In a post by the Morrow County Sheriff's Office, investigators said deputies were dispatched to a residence on Township Road 190, where they located a deceased woman and a man who "appeared to have several stab wounds." The post identified the victim as 75-year-old Sandra Fisher and noted that the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation had been called in to process the scene.
The sheriff's office stressed in its statement that there is no known danger to the wider community while detectives continue to pursue leads and sort through what unfolded inside the home.
State Investigators Brought In For Forensic Work
The sheriff's office requested help from the Crime Scene Unit of the state bureau, which supports local agencies with evidence collection, photography and other forensic services, according to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. It is common for smaller departments to call in BCI so that evidence is preserved and can be thoroughly analyzed later.
Medical Response And Transfer To Columbus
Authorities said Morrow County EMS first took the injured man to OhioHealth Morrow County Hospital in Mount Gilead, where he was stabilized before being flown to Columbus for higher-level care. OhioHealth lists Morrow County Hospital at 651 W Marion Rd in Mount Gilead.
Detectives and BCI agents remain at work as they collect evidence and interview witnesses. The Morrow County Sheriff's Office has said it will release additional information as the investigation moves forward and more facts are confirmed.
