Nassau County detectives say a crew of young suspects has been taken off the street after a string of smash-and-grab-style break-ins at cell phone repair shops across the county. The three arrests cap an investigation into multiple commercial burglaries at small electronics and wireless businesses on Long Island, where phones and other devices were swiped from display cases and counters. Police announced the arrests on Thursday, April 9.

Investigators identified two of the suspects as 19-year-old Widmaer Innocent of West Babylon and 18-year-old Jahmir Corbin of Westbury, along with a 17-year-old male, according to Daily Voice. Innocent and Corbin each face three counts of burglary, attempted burglary and criminal possession of stolen property, while the juvenile is charged with five counts of burglary, attempted burglary and grand larceny. The two adults were arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday, April 10, the outlet reports.

Where Detectives Say The Break-Ins Happened

Police say the burglary crew focused on smaller storefronts in Nassau County, including shops in Rockville Centre and Uniondale. Business listings place iClinic Phone Repair at 528 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, according to Loc8NearMe. A Better Business Bureau profile lists Rapa Wireless at 615 Jerusalem Avenue in Uniondale. Both locations sit along busy commercial strips that cater to quick walk-in repairs and fast phone fixes.

Charges And Court Dates

According to Daily Voice, detectives also tied the 17-year-old to a separate robbery at a Westbury home on February 13. He was arraigned in the Youth Section of First District Court on April 10 and now faces additional robbery counts related to that incident. Prosecutors are handling the formal paperwork and setting up future dates as the cases move through First District Court in Hempstead.
