
Austin police are asking for help tracking down a suspect in a robbery at the H‑E‑B off North MoPac, releasing surveillance photos of a woman they say tried to steal merchandise and then assaulted a customer who confronted her.

In a post on Austin Police Department social media, officers shared several surveillance stills and asked the public to help identify the person shown. The post, published Wednesday (April 15, 2026), also directs readers to the department's formal case release.
City Release Details When And Where
According to a City of Austin press release, the robbery happened on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at about 3:50 p.m. at the H‑E‑B located at 12407 N. MoPac Expressway service road. The release lists the case number as 25-2960997 and reports that the suspect "attempted to steal merchandise" and then assaulted a victim after being confronted.
What The Photos Show
Police images and the city release describe the suspect as a Black female, approximately 30 years old, about 5'2" tall, bald, and of a heavy build. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue shorts, and light-green running shoes. APD also circulated stills of what detectives believe is a black Toyota tied to the incident and say they hope someone will recognize either the person or the vehicle and call it in.

The city notes that a reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest, according to the press release.
