A quiet stretch of Berwick Drive turned into a crime scene before dawn Saturday, after Fayetteville police responding to reports of gunfire found a man dead inside a home in the 600 block. Officers pronounced him dead at the scene and opened a homicide investigation.

Officers were called to the home around 2:45 a.m. and found one man suffering from gunshot wounds, according to WTVD. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are calling the shooting an isolated incident and say there is “no threat to the public at this time,” though the case remains very much active.
